Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, says the University has modernised its classrooms across all campuses with state-of-the-art facilities for effective learning outcomes.
The University commissioned a newly modernised classroom facilities at the Jones Quartey Building, the Central Cafeteria, and some lecture halls on the Legon and Accra City Campuses recently.
The initiatives are part of the University’s broader classroom modernisation project to create conducive learning and teaching spaces for students and faculty.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University said this during graduation ceremony for undergraduate programmes at the College of Education.
In all, 15,549 students graduated from the PhD to the non-degree levels.
The Vice Chnacellor said the commissioning of the projects concluded the second phase of the classroom modernisation agenda, and that the next phase of the project would focus on the Korle-Bu campus.
On collaboration, she said Tobinco Pharmaceuticals had provided funding support for the University of Ghana Medical School Clinic at GHS20,000,000.
DHL has also sponsored the refurbishment of the fountains in front of the Balme Library and at the University’s main entrance.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the companies and all industry partners for their invaluable support and commitment to the development of the University.
She announced the launch of the University of Ghana Alumni Associations in Togo, the Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria, enhancing the institution’s global presence.
“The launch of these Alumni Associations marks a new chapter in our efforts to strengthen our alumni network, foster lasting connections, and contribute to the University’s growth and outreach,” she added.
Prof Amfo charged the graduates to be courageous, uphold the values of the University, and make a meaningful impact in the world.
Ms Golda Esi Andam, Deputy Director, Ghana Education Service, encouraged the graduates to be adventurous and confident to achieve their goals.
She urged the graduates to pursue further studies for their professional development and contribute to national development.
Mr Richmond Nyarko Obeng, the Overall Best Student, Business Administration, Accounting Option, commended the faculty and sponsors for their inspiration and invaluable support.
Mr Obeng, who is a Police Officer, obtained a grade point average of 3.82, said he had cultivated the culture of resilience and acquired knowledge to navigate the complexity of the world.
