Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpe, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta in the Volta Region has stated that the upcoming general elections will be a battle between Ghanaians and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said the level of hardship on citizens due to poor governance by the Akufo Addo-led government would be measured in the December exercise.

Mr Gakpe, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after filing his nomination at the Electoral Commission office at Keta to contest for a second term, urged the constituents to vote massively for the opposition NDC to reset the nation.

He mentioned that the NDC was poised to return to power to alleviate the suffering of Ghanaians and the hardship many were going through under the current government.

Mr Gakpe indicated that some abandoned projects, such as Havedzi to Aflao road, Keta port, and health facilities, among others would be prioritised to give hope back to the people of the area.

“Even in opposition, we are helping our people in the areas of apprenticeship, ICT, and others. “

He said the next NDC government would empower youth and women, adding, “There would be Women Development Bank, Youth empowerment programmes, 24-hour programmes, and others that would put a smile back on the faces of all.”

Mr Gakpe also urged all to come out in their numbers and vote massively for the NDC for progress and development.

Mr Gakpe and Mr Goldberg-Grimm Hope Courage Lekettey of the NPP have so far filed their nominations to contest the Keta Parliamentary seat.

Some NDC and NPP supporters of the GNA engaged expressed optimism that their candidates would win the December 7 Parliamentary polls.

Filing of nomination forms, which commenced on Monday, September 9, is expected to end on Friday, September 13 across the country.
