Cape Coast-Ghana, Oct. 26, GNA – A 13-year-old girl has been left partially paralyzed after his uncle allegedly defiled her at Twifo-Pewodie in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.
The victim’s mother, Madam Esther Srentor told the Ghana News Agency that she left the girl in the house to buy some foodstuffs in the market but the suspect, Alex Aleoto, a 21-year-old illegal miner trapped her in his room after asking her to fetch him his mobile phone.
Aleoto rushed on the unsuspecting victim as soon as she entered his room to fetch the phone, tore her dress and gagged her to prevent her from screaming and brutally defiled her.
According to Madam Srentor, she returned from the market to meet her daughter half paralysed and writhing in pain as she bled profusely and rushed her to the Twifo-Agona health centre but was referred to Twifo-Praso District Hospital.
The girl told her mother about her efforts to fight back which yielded no result as she was overpowered by Aleoto.
Though the victim had been discharged from the hospital she could barely walk well because of the pain she suffered during the act.
Madam Srentor appealed to the police to arrest the suspect who is on the run.
A police source admitted that the incident had been reported and effort was being made to apprehend the suspect.
