The victim, a Junior High School Form 2 student, is six weeks and two days pregnant.
Arthur, charged with defilement, pleaded not guilty before the court presided over by Halimah El-Alawa Abdul Basit.
He is expected to reappear on April 7, 2025.
Chief Inspector Portia Nuarko, leading the prosecution, said the complainant is the proprietress of an educational complex at Ablekuma and the victim’s foster parent.
The victim and her 12-year-old brother live in accommodation provided by the school due to the distance from the complainant’s home.
Arthur, a Computing and Career Technology teacher at the school, volunteered to teach special classes for students preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
In December 2024, he allegedly began having unprotected sex with the victim.
On March 11, 2025, the victim’s younger brother saw Arthur and the victim in a classroom and became suspicious.
Arthur warned him not to report what he saw, but the boy informed the proprietress, who filed a complaint at the Anyaa Police Station.
A medical form was issued, and a report dated March 14, 2025, confirmed the victim had been defiled and was pregnant.
During investigations, Arthur admitted to having unprotected sex with the victim in the school’s computer laboratory.
