On completion, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh, also the Board Chairman of the BPA said the “mini stadium” would be managed by the Sunyani Municipal Assembly, saying, it would also add to the assembly’s revenue mobilization drive.
The MP promised his commitment to help unearth and build on the hidden football talents of young people in the municipality, saying “football is also one of the biggest sources of employment for the youth.”
“Bono region is blessed with great football talents,” Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh stated, and expressed the hope that with the facility in place, the interest of the youth in football and sport in general would be improved and sustained.
Mr Simon Lamptey, the Head of Operations, Wembley Sports Construction Company Limited executing the project, said “the facility is a FIFA standard mini stadium” with a VIP stand.
He said the construction work would also create jobs for the local people, saying, the execution of the project would engage local artisanal workers and provide menial jobs for unskilled people.
