Kpone (Near Tema) Dec. 5, MNN – Step up the education on the HIV and AIDS awareness campaign Mr. Patrick Yeboah, Health and Environment Safety Officer Ghana Petroleum Mooring System Company Limited (GPMS) based in Tema has admonished the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
He said it was time serious measures and plans were implemented to help curb the spread of the deadly virus.
Mr. Yeboah noted that the Ghana Petroleum Mooring System would at all times extend its support to ensure that education on HIV and AIDS awareness was intensified.
Delivering a keynote address at an event to mark the 2022 World AIDS Day celebrations in Kpone, GPMS stated that HIV and AIDS are still ravaging the human race across the globe.
He noted that the Ghana AIDS Control Programme had earlier reported that, within the first half of this year over 23,000 new cases of HIV and AIDS infections were recorded representing some 2 percent of the national prevalent rate.
He described the data as dangerous and needed critical attention from all well-meaning citizens.
The GPMS Health and Environmental Safety Officer mentioned that in solidarity with the rest of the world as families and friends mourn loved ones who died through HIV, citizens must endeavor to take precautionary measures to help curb the spread of HIV in Kpone and the country at large.
