Ho (V/R)-Ghana, Dec 25, GNA – The Sokode-Lokoe District of The Church of Pentecost has won The Church of Pentecost National Youth Bible Bee contest held in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.
The district, which was represented by Mr. Andrews Helegbe, garnered 421 points to emerge victorious and was followed by Miss Angelina Ackan from Tarkwa in the Western Region with 399 points.
Miss Lisbert Kyei-Yeboah from the Kwadaso District in the Ashanti Region secured the third position with 380.25 points.
A total of 12 contestants participated in the Bee.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Helegbe said he was excited when declared the winner of the contest.
He advised the youth to work for God and be involved in Church activities.
Mr. Helegbe said, “this is our time to channel our energies into the work of God for He will surely reward us.”
Rev. Ezekiel Naasu, Sokode-Lokoe District Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, charged the youth to emulate Mr. Andrews Helegbe and work for God as there is an abundance reward in that.
Rev. Naasu, who presented the trophy and the Citation to Mr. Helegbe in the presence of the congregation, praised the wonderful performance of Mr Helegbe and charged him to keep it up.
He received a Citation, trophy and laptop as his prize.
Bible Bee Contest is about memorising verse and reciting.
It aims at equipping the youth with the scriptures to understand the word of God and have faith in him.
It also helps them to defend their faith in Christ.
