Shama (WR)-Ghana, Nov. 14, GNA – The Bentsir township of the Shama District will soon benefit from a community centre under a self-help initiative by the development chief, council of elders and well-meaning indigenes of the area.
The project when completed would be an addition to the many self-initiated projects like the ultra-modern Police station, it would have offices among others.
Nana Kwamena Dekyi I, the Guantuhene of the Shama Traditional Council, announced the at a fund raising and home coming ceremony held in Shama at the weekend.
The Guantuhene known in private life as Mr. Isaac Kwamena Afful is the CEO of the Lower Pra Rural Bank.
He acknowledged how the people of the area had committed to development over the period …adding “our responsibility is first towards our own development as individuals and as society.”
He also entreated the community to patronize the services of the Lower Pra Rural Bank to enable it to undertake a lot more corporate social investment projects in the area.
Mr. Ebenezer Dadzie, the Chief Executive Officer of the Shama District, acknowledged the leadership of the Guantuhene in contributing to projects in the area, adding, “our request for a municipal status can largely be attributed to these development support.”
Mr. Isaac Kwamena Van-Ess, who Chaired the event, praised the king for his thoughtful leadership and asked the community to rally behind him to advance the fortunes of the District.
