Accra-Ghana, Dec. 24, GNA – Brasil’s Richarlison de Andrade’s bicycle kick against Serbia has won the Goal of the Tournament at the just-ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Brasilian forward slammed in a long crossing ball from Vinicius Junior in the 73rd minute of the game to give his side a 2-0 victory over their opponent.
According to FIFA, the award was given to the Brasilian based on votes from football fans all over the world.
The 25-year-old beat the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jnr and seven others to be crowned the winner.
This would be his first international major award, having had one of the best seasons in his football career.
Richarlison scored a total of three goals in this year’s tournament as he crowned the Mundial with a quarterfinal exit.
Brazil was defeated in the quarterfinal stage of the competition after suffering a penalty shootout defeat to Croatia.
