Accra-Ghana, June 28, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission, Imam Nurudeen Quaye, has urged Muslims to reflect on the lessons that come with Hajj rites during Eid celebration.
He said “ the Hajj rites call Muslims to the essence of creation and the reason why we are on this earth simply to worship Allah based on his dictates in all aspect of life as he wants us to live it”.
Delivering an Eid-ul-Adha message, Imam Quaye said the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha was characterised by sacrifices and urged Muslims to sacrifice themselves in the course of Allah.
“Whereever you find yourselves in life and you are in the position to assist humanity to grow, you must help. All you have to do is to sacrifice and help to enable society to grow.”
Imam Quaye said as Muslims they must individually and collectively create an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity for life to be better for everyone.
” Strive to be assets and not a liabilities to society.”
He appealed to Muslims to enjoy the celebration but ensure to do so within the limits permitted by Allah and the country for a peaceful Eid celebration.
“I wish all Muslims Eid Mubarak and ask for the blessings of Allah on all till the next Eid celebration.”
Imam Ismaila Okotah Badoo, Okaikoi South District Chief Imam said when Ibrahim was tested by Allah, he obeyed Allah and did so for all humanity.
“… Hence, we also have to sacrifice ourselves to work in the course of Allah, so that Allah will accept our efforts on this earth.”
He said Ibrahim’s trial must be a lesson for all Muslims to use the sacrifice as their pillar so that Allah would see them as those who had also sacrificed.
“We must be cautious about our actions within the sight of Allah so as to pass His tests in this world, and be successful on the day of judgment.”
Imam Badoo prayed to Allah to accept the Hajj of all pilgrims in Mecca and the supplication of all Muslims.
“Let us celebrate this Eid in peace, so that all around us would feel the blessings of it. Let us share what we have on this day in humility as Ibrahim was humbled before God, and love one another for the sake of Allah.”
