Reverend George Akuamoah-Boateng, the Ho East Presbytery Synod Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has urged the church’s presbyters to demonstrate Christ to others via their conduct.
He asked the presbyters to live lives that conformed to the image of Christ and to teach the gospel of Christ to others, emphasising that the character of a presbyter should be a sermon to others.
The Reverend Minister stated that it was the obligation of presbyters to initiate missionary work in their jurisdictions and bring the light of Christ where there was darkness.
Rev. Akuamoah-Boateng was speaking at the 30th National Delegates Conference of the Presbyters’ Union of the E.P. Church, Ghana in Ho, in the Volta Region.
It was on the theme: “Care for God’s Creation, The Mission of the Church, The Role of the Presbyters.”
The Reverend Minister commended the presbyters for their significant contributions to the church’s growth and encouraged them to continue working hard for the advancement of the church.
Rev. Akuamoah-Boateng urged the citizens to continue planting trees and avoid acts that depleted the country’s vegetation cover.
He urged those who indulged in unlawful mining and fishing, ruining the country’s magnificent greenery, farmlands, and water bodies, to stop.
The Reverend Minister emphasised that it was mankind’s obligation to safeguard God’s creation.
Presbyter Dr Anthony Mawutor Atsu, the National President of the Presbyters’ Union of the E.P Church, Ghana, said mankind was the most important God’s creation that must be taken care of.
He asked the church to seek the welfare of its agents and members and avoid taking decisions that put too much burden on them.
Presbyter Atsu asked the body of Christ to pray for peace for the nation as it headed to the the polls in December, and implored the political parties to conduct a healthy campaign devoid of insults, name calling and financial inducement.
