Apowa (W/R)-Ghana, Dec. 22, GNA – The aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Ahanta-West Constituency, Mrs Mavis Kuukua Bissue Boateng, says the deplorable state of roads has crippled development in the area.
She has therefore appealed to the Party’s Flagbearer Mr John Dramani Mahama in the Election 2024, to fix roads in the Ahanta-West Municipality if he wins power.
Mrs Bissue Boateng made the appeal during a town hall stakeholder engagement meeting as part of former President John Dramani Mahama’s Building the Ghana We Want Tour of the Western Region.
The Parliamentary Candidate said the Ahanta-West Municipality lagged in development though situated within the oil and gas enclave.
Mrs Bissue Boateng said the main international road from Takoradi to Agona-Nkwanta had deteriorated beyond description and caalled for its maintenance. Mahama, addressing the people, he said in terms of road infrastructural projects, the NDC was unmatched.
He recounted road infrastructural projects executed by the NDC administration throughout the country, from the time of former President Jerry John Rawlings to his tenure before he left office in 2016.
Former President Mahama assured the people that priority would be given to oil and gas enclave roads in his next government.
