The Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) has held its end-of-year get-together with a call on staff members to strive and give-off their best for the NRCC to live up to its responsibilities.
Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, Northern Regional Minister, who made the call, told the staff members that, “We owe it a duty to deliver on our mandate” adding the government would continue to support them with the needed resources to aid their work.
The end-of-year get-together, which was to be held last year, was attended by staff of the NRCC, staff of some partner organisations at the NRCC, and the media to amongst others recognise the efforts and contribution of staff over the year (2023) and expressed gratitude to them.
Alhaji Saibu said the year (2023) had not been an easy one but with the needed tools, the NRCC excelled in its various activities.
He expressed gratitude to the staff for their support over the years and spoke against absenteeism, lateness, and apathy towards work to enable them to continue to achieve their targets.
Alhaji Alhassan Issahaku, Chief Director, NRCC said the NRCC achieved all its targets for the year and was selected as the Regional Coordinating Council in the country with the Best Internal Audit management amongst other awards.
He told the staff that a lot was expected of them this year encouraging more team work to achieve their targets.
The Regional Minister presented the Most Professional and Discipline Officer of the Year Award to the Chief Director of the NRCC, who will be retiring later this year, in recognition of his excellent and distinguished services to the country over the years.
The Chief Director dedicated his award to the staff of the NRCC for their support for him over the years saying he knew that he was leaving behind a strong team.
Meanwhile, three staff of the NRCC, who retired during the year, were awarded with a double-decker refrigerator each for their meritorious services to the institution.
For the serving staff, Best Worker – Senior Staff Category was presented to Mr Mohammed Issah of the Records Management Unit, Best Worker – Junior Staff Category was presented to Madam Lantana Inusah of the Estate Unit, and Best Worker – Auxiliary Grade went to Mr Iddrisu Abdul-Karim, a labourer, and each of them took home a 50-inch Smart LED Television each and a citation.
The NRCC’s Internal Audit Unit was awarded the Best Unit of the NRCC.
Mr Issah, one of the awardees, who spoke on behalf of other awardees, thanked Management of the NRCC for the recognition saying they felt motivated to continue to give of their best for the NRCC to continue to deliver on its mandate.
