Accra-Ghana, Oct. 24, GNA – Morocco, as part of preparations towards hosting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, is set to construct a 113,000 capacity stadium in Benslimane.
Morocco earlier this month, won the bid to host the 35th AFCON tournament and the second African country to host the World Cup, after South Africa in 2010.
Football development in the North African country had been on the rise, as the Royal Moroccan Football Federation is keen on investing in the sport.
The stadium, together with six others yet to be refurbished stadia is worth $2bn and would be built in the cities of Rabat, Agadir, Casablanca Fez, Marrakech, and Tangier.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation had also stated that the project would be completed by 2028.
