Accra-Ghana, Dec. 05, GNA – Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Asante Kotoko has announced the signing of former Berekum Chelsea Coach Orlando Wellington as the new Assistant Coach of the club.
A statement released by the club said, “We are delighted to welcome on board Coach Orlando Wellington as first team Assistant Coach”.
Kotoko after the exit of David Ocloo and John Eduafo have not had any assistant coach to help Seydou Zerbo, who was appointed Head Coach, August this year.
The experienced coach was assistant to Sellas Tetteh who made history when Ghana won the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, before taking up the role as head coach of the Ghanaian side.
He again rose up to the task to help Premier League side, Berekum Chelsea to win the 2010/2011 GPL title.
In 2020, the coach was appointed to take charge of Division One League side, Wa Suntaa FC of which he resigned in 2021.
After years of being out of the Ghana Premier League, Orlando is back to help the GPL champions defend the league title this season with his tactical brain and probably win the MTN FA Cup.
