Accra-Ghana, June16, GNA – Jeremie Frimpong, a defender of Bayer Leverkusen, has been nominated for the Bundesliga’s Fair Play Award for his amazing act of kindness toward a young fan.
Frimpong unintentionally kicked a ball that hit a fan in the stands during a game between Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen.
The 22-year-old rushed up to the young boy to comfort him and made sure he was alright. He gave the supporter his jersey as well.
The amazing moment went viral after the match and has now been chosen for the special award.
Frimpong, meanwhile, had yet another outstanding season and helped Leverkusen finished fifth overall.
Frimpong was not selected by Dutch manager Ronald Koeman for the Nations League games.
He was handed his first ever call up in the Dutch senior team but did not play. He is still eligible to play for Ghana.
