Accra-Ghana, June 1, GNA – The Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (GBFA) ended the 2023 Arnold Classic Africa Championship in South Africa, with a total five medals.
Team Ghana won a gold medal, three silver medals and one bronze medal to complete their participation in the competition.
Parnell Michael Adu won the gold medal with over 80kg, and a Pro Card while Abraham Mawutor Kwame Torkornoo won silver medal in the Men’s Bodybuilding with over 85kg.
In the Elite Men’s and Physique bodybuilding categories, Godwin Frimpong and Christopher Ntow Bannan won silver medals, while the only female among the team Celestine Dogbeda also won bronze in the female bikini.
The Arnold Classic championship is an event put together worldwide on each continent to celebrate bodybuilding great Arnold Schwarzenegger every year.
In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Abdul Haye Yartey President of the GBFA expressed his excitement over the feat and thanked the athletes for making Ghana proud.
He said, “Ghana did well, flying the flag high and I’m very proud of the athletes. I congratulate them all.”
