The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has officially submitted his nomination forms for re-election as the Member of Parliament (MP), to the Electoral Commission (EC) in Nkroful.
The submission marked his formal entry into the 2024 parliamentary race, as he sought to extend his tenure and continue to represent the people of Ellembelle.
Accompanied by a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, local party officials, and community leaders, Mr Kofi Buah arrived at the EC’s office at 1130 hours to complete the nomination process.
Some of the party supporters hoisted placards with inscriptions such as “Ellembelle Anyelazo,” Vote for Proven Track Record of Excellence, The Less Privileged Thank You for The Ellembelle Food Bank,” The Rebirth of Dr Kwame Nkrumah,” and The Man Behind the Ghana Gas Project,” among others.
Addressing enthusiastic party supporters at the EC’s office at Nkroful, Mr Kofi Buah expressed gratitude to his constituents for their continuous support over the years and vowed to keep championing development in the Constituency.
Mr Kofi Buah, who had served as MP since 2009, is running on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Under his leadership, Ellembelle had seen significant improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, making him a popular figure in the Constituency.
However, the upcoming election promised to be keenly contested, with rival candidates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other political parties also vying for the seat.
Supporters gathered outside the EC office, chanting slogans and displaying banners in support of the MP.
Many party supporters who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, expressed confidence in his re-election, citing his track record and commitment to the development of the area.
The Electoral Commission is expected to announce the full list of candidates for the Ellembelle constituency in the coming days.
As the election date approaches, all eyes would be on this crucial constituency as political parties ramp up their campaigns to secure votes in December.
