Tema-Ghana, May 8, CDA Consult – The University of Phoenix in Arizona, USA, has awarded Dr. Samuel K. Nkansah a Doctor of Business Administration doctorate.
Dr. Nkansah has an Executive MBA in Finance and graduated with a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Arizona, USA, in 2020.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the graduation ceremony was postponed until last weekend, when Dr. Nkansah and his colleagues were all decorated with their certificates.

According to Dr. Nkansah’s data, which was made accessible to the Communication for Development and Advocacy Consult (CDA Consult) in Tema, his thesis and dissertation were based on “Evaluation of Generic Prescribing Patterns of Physicians in Selected Ghana Health Facilities: A Correlational Methodology.”
He added that a scholarly work based on this thesis was titled “Adherence to a Public Policy on the Use of Generic Medicines in a Developing Country” and was published in November 2021 in the Journal of Generic Medicines.
“I am currently serving as the Technical Service Advisor/Consultant to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Committee for Vaccine Production, which will be commissioned in March 2021.”
“My role will be to assist the committee in developing a roadmap for vaccine production and manufacturing in Ghana by December 2023.”
Dr. Nkansah is currently the technical adviser and consultant recruited by GIZ to assist the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in updating and creating capacity to meet international vaccine control standards.
“I am the project lead consultant for the Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO)-Community Practise Pharmacists’ Association (CPPA) project to increase uptake of COVID-19 vaccines in second-cycle and tertiary institutions,” he added.
Dr. Nkansah served as the TFHO-Pharmacy Council’s key consultant on a similar project to raise public awareness about acquiring the COVID-19 vaccine through over-the-counter medical services (OTCMS).
He has over 25 years of pharmaceutical business experience, covering sales, marketing, and policy management in the global pharmaceutical market.
Since 2018, he has been consulting pharmaceutical companies and a hotel company on business ideas for further West African areas through Samaholdings Limited.

Dr. Nkansah previously worked in West Africa as the corporate lead for pharmaceutical behemoth GlaxoSmithKline, climbing through the ranks to run the company’s government affairs wing in West and Central Africa.
This position entailed managing the regional roll-out of government affairs through interaction with important stakeholders whose tasks are critical to our company’s long-term success.
“I oversaw the implementation of government affairs in West Africa.” I discovered and established long-term connections with key clients in West and Central Africa’s Expanded Programme of Immunisation (EPI), leading in the introduction of newer vaccines.
“The primary goal is to include the Penta Vaccine and Rotarix vaccines in the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) in Ghana, Sierra Leone, the Gambia, and Liberia.” This outcome would not have been feasible without Dr. Nkansah’s expertise in vaccine dynamics.
