A statement from the Corporate Affairs Unit of CTVET said as part of the Commission’s mandate and functions, the Commission organised examinations for students in the various technical and vocational schools across the country.
It said a total of 52,133candidates would be writing the 2024 Examinations, out of this, 37,558 were male, whilst 14,575 are female.
It said the test serialization which was rolled out effectively last year as part of the 2023 May/June Certificate II Examinations would be repeated this year.
In 2023, 32,402 students took the Certificate II Examinations and other Technical Examinations, while 52,133 students took part in the 2024 examinations. This shows a difference of 19,731 students, which represents 60.89 per cent increase over the previous year.
Also, the number of male students who wrote the various examinations in 2023 were 23,990, whiles that of 2024 is 37,558 students. This shows a difference of 13,568 students and a per cent increase of 56.6, over the previous year.
Besides, female students who wrote the various examinations in 2023 were 8,412, whiles that of 2024 are 14,575. This shows a difference of 6,163 students and a per cent increase of 73.3, over the preceding year.
The statement said the Commission had been working towards improving TVET assessment through a national quality assurance system which accredited training providers, facilitators, assessors, and internal verifiers to deliver and assess competency-based training programmes.
