Ho-Ghana, Aug. 13, GNA – Reverend Dr. Lawson Kwaku Dzanku, Clerk of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana at the weekend advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used as puppets.
“Do not allow politicians or the rich to use you as puppets for their parochial interests,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Dzanku gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during the Youth Week celebration of the Church, in Ho.
He called on them to strive to develop their God given talents to become useful citizens for themselves, country, and God.
Rev. Dr. Dzanku said as the country was inching towards another political season, people with selfish interests might be planning to bait the youth with promises or some few cedis notes to achieve that aim.
He saidt those who were beating war drums would not be much affected as the youth should there be chaos in the country.
The Clerk called on the youth to shun all forms of vices that would jeopardize their future but live a holistic life.
Turning to the youth of the church, he said the leadership cherished and needed them most as they were the future leaders of the church.
Rev. Dr. Dzanku advised them not to be swayed by “sweet-tongued later day men of God whose stock-in-trademark is false prophecies to leave the church.”
“God is in the EPC, the only thing for you to do to feel His presence is to be faithful and loyal to Him,” he said.
Rev. Dr. Dzanku asked them to take inspiration from the forebears of the church and work hard to win more souls for Christ to increase the membership of the church.
The youth week celebration of the church is on the theme “revive us again o Lord, heal and restore us.”
