Nangodi (U\E)-Ghana, March 21, GNA – Mr Lamtiig A. Apanga, a private legal practitioner, has filed his nomination to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primary at the Nabdam Constituency with a call on delegates to consider his ideas of development.
Addressing the media after filing his nomination at the party’s office in Nangodi, the district capital, he said the contest was more on ideas that would enhance development and salvage the constituency from its social challenges.
These include youth unemployment, inadequate healthcare systems, and poor roads, which he said he would focus on when elected.
He urged the delegates to remain resolute in electing an aspirant with superior ideas to offer the needed services to the community.
He said intimidation and character assassination of others with opposing views only defeated the essence of championing victory for the NDC come 2024 and called on the constituency executive to intervene in cases of disagreement, to ensure harmonious and peaceful campaign.
Mr Apanga was accompanied by hundreds of enthusiastic delegates, party faithful and some revered party elders.
Delegates and supporters vying for Mr Apanga said electing him would ensure he continued with the provision of water, payment of students’ school fees, donation of building materials to communities and personal protective equipment to health facilities, among other things.
They flooded the party’s office in the Nangodi Community with their red and white T-Shirts inscribed with the name of the aspirant, amidst music from various local artists including the Sakoti Wango cultural group dancers.
The legal practitioner is in the contest with two others; Dr Mark Kurt Nawaane, the incumbent MP, and Mr Francis Sampana Zure.
The election is slated for May 13, 2023.
