Accra-Ghana, Oct. 05, GNA – The Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, Moderator, Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has described Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, as the most innovative Education Minister in Africa.
The Moderator commended the Minister for his show of quality leadership at the Ministry since assuming office.
He said the kind of innovations the Minister had brought into the nation’s education space were apt, gradually shaping the nation’s fortunes.
The Rev. Mante made these remarks at the 85th anniversary commemoration of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon.
The event was held on the theme, “Building Upon a Legacy of Excellency- Come Along and Join Us.”
The Moderator said the innovations introduced into the sector would in the long run propel the country’s socioeconomic transformation and development.
He, therefore, appealed to all stakeholders in the sector to continue to play their roles effectively in their bid to champion the development of the country.
Mr David Odjidja, Headmaster of the School, appealed to the Government to help provide the school with a new assembly hall and a minibus to enhance effective teaching and learning.
He also called for the completion of a road tarring project on the campus to enhance movement in the school.
Mr Odjidja said the various awards and laurels chalked by the school over the past years were as a result of hard work, teamwork and dedication of their teaching and non-teaching staff.
The event was graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Professor Mike Oquaye, former Speaker of Parliament, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, Dr Eric Nkansah, Director General of the Ghana Education Service, among others.
