The UPSA in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency said the 20-member committee is chaired by Mr Kwabena Agyekum, the Registrar and CEO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony Prof Mawutor, urged the Committee to develop a comprehensive plan for the UPSA@60 celebrations.
He emphasised the significance of the anniversary, stating that it was an opportunity to reflect on UPSA’s achievements and project its future with a renewed purpose.
The Vice-Chancellor tasked the Committee with setting clear goals, establishing a realistic timeline, managing the budget efficiently, coordinating sub-committees, and ensuring seamless execution of all activities.
The Committee is expected to spearhead the planning and execution of a year-long anniversary programme that will reflect the university’s legacy, celebrate its milestones, and strengthen its brand as a centre of academic and professional excellence in Africa.
The full membership of the Committee includes Prof John K. M. Mawutor, Vice-Chancellor, UPSA, Ex-Officio Chair; and Mr Kwabena Agyekum, Registrar & CEO, CIMG, Chairperson.
The rest are Dr Leticia Akyeampong, Deputy Director, Administration, Secretary; Mrs Lorraine B. Gyan, Registrar, UPSA; Mrs Joyce Opoku Duodu, Director, Finance and Administration, ICAG; and Mrs Aba Lokko, Director, Public Affairs, UPSA.
Others are Dr Munkaila Abdulai, Lecturer, Business Administration; Dr Linda Narh, Lecturer, Marketing Department; Dr Timothy Zilevu, Lecturer, Marketing Department; Dr Issah Mohammed, MD, FT Global Investment Ltd; Madam Patricia Akowuah Mensah, CEO, Ifocus Ghana; Mr Francis Dadzie, President, UPSA Global Alumni and Mr Gabriel King Akpalu, Executive President, SOL Network.
