Kpone (Near Tema)-Ghana, Aug. 10 – About 9,011 candidates have been registered to participate in the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) within the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
A total of 4,306 boys and 4,705 girls from 274 schools are taking part in the 2023 BECE in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality.
Mr. Evans Harry Arthur, Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Education Director, in an interview in Kpone said, there are a total of 4,906 candidates from 36 public schools, and 4,105 are from 238 private schools, stressing that adequate preparation has been done to ensure the 2023 BECE is successful.
Mr. Arthur said the examination would be conducted in some 30 examination centres across the entire municipality, adding that adequate security has been provided by the Ghana Police Service throughout the 5-day exercise.
According to the Kpone-Katamanso Education Director, added that the students have been well prepared for the examination and called on parents to also provide the necessary things needed to ensure their children felt comfortable throughout the examination period.
Mr. Arthur again expressed gratitude to the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly for their support in ensuring the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination became a success.
Meanwhile, tour of some of the examination centers shows that the process had been smooth without any operation hitches.
