Tema-Ghana, Nov. 4, MNN – The 67th Ordinary Session of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rightsis slated for Monday, November 7th, 2022, at Arusha, Tanzania.
Judges of the African Court during the four-week session will examine a number of applications and deliver Judgments on December 1st which would be streamed live via the link: https://www.youtube.com/user/africancourt/live.
A statement issued and signed by Dr. Robert Eno, African Court Registrar, and copied to the Myliberty News Network (MNN) in Tema-Ghana explained that during the opening session, the new Deputy Registrar, Ms. Grace Wakio Kakai, a national of Kenya, would be sworn in.
Ms. Kakai takes over from Mr. Nouhou Diallo, a citizen of Burkina Faso, who has retired. Before being appointed to the post, the new Deputy Registrar served as the Head of the Legal Division of the African Court.
The African Court is composed of eleven Judges, nationals of African Union Member States elected in their individual capacities.
The African Continental Court meets four times a year in Ordinary Sessions and may hold Extra-Ordinary Sessions.
