She secured 33 ‘yes’ votes representing 80.4 percent in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.
Prior to voting, Mr Gyimah Yakubu, the Wenchi Municipal Coordinating Director, urged the Assembly Members (AMs) to endorse the President Nominee to facilitate the speedy development of the municipality.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Gyamfi thanked President John Dramani Mahama for her nomination and expressed appreciation to the AMs for her endorsement, pledging to facilitate inclusivity in the development process of the municipality.
She said the Assembly required the inputs and views of everybody in bringing the development of the municipality to the next level.
She pledged to work devoid of partisanship in the implementation of government policies and programmes.
The Assembly successfully elected Mr Henry Ameworwor, the AM for the Pramaso Twiesiase Electoral Area in the Municipality, also the Headmaster of the Nchiraa Methodist Basic School as its Presiding Member.
